Nichole’s Reviews: Kama Sutra Massage Therapy Kit

The great folks at envyusonline recently sent me some more massage goodies! *squee*! :)

I was happy to receive some massage oil, because David seemingly likes to use it more than a candle, I have no idea for what his reasoning is behind it? Maybe it’s that he doesn’t have to plan and then light the candle then try to watch Sam (our cat) To make sure that he doesn’t mess around and have a big accident!

Anyways, this go around I got the chance to review the Kama Sutra Massage Therapy Kit which came with 5 aromatic massage oils. The Oils come in a clear zip type pouch with the bottles being 2 fluid ounces and each bottle has a foil seal under the lid. You simply take off the foil, screw the lid back on and then it is a basic “pop” type of lid.

I figure the best way to tell you about these oils is to describe them in sent, and give you my opinions on each one, so here we go!

Sweet Almond was my least favorite of the whole bunch. It isn’t a horrible smell by any means, believe me I have had worse! However, it is just very overpowering and I can’t really describe the scent in my own words. The description on the bottle says that it is a subtle smell but I don’t agree lol. This one does mention that it has Vitamin E which was exciting to me, since I am doing everything in my power to use lots of vitamin E and such on my skin after that annoying scar/rash I have had for almost 2 years. That, and tanning has seemed to help it greatly!

Soaring Spirit Might just be my favorite! I don’t know why but it reminded me of a shampoo that we used to sale when I worked in hair salons..I know that sounds odd but I always found that shampoo to be VERY good smelling, and it even made your head tingle a little lol. So this one says that it is invigorating and will energize you and refresh. It has ginger and citrus among other things. I used this one in the afternoon when I wanted a little massage and just a tiny nap!

Pleasure Garden had rose, sandlewood and lavender, as some of it’s key fragrances. I generally don’t like a rose sent, and this one was more of a realistic rose scent, and not a overpowering “fake” “sick” scent. I mention this because it really was the key smell in my opinion, and I didn’t really smell the lavender at all. Since the scent wasn’t too overpowering or fake I did end up liking it quite a bit!

Serenity was a very “Woodsy” Type of scent , but also not in a bad way! I thought I wouldn’t like it at first, but I have always liked the smell of Cedar which was the main highlighted scent! It actually made me quite happy! :)

Healing Blend was one that was targeted for muscles and had clove and nutmeg in it. I could probably smell the clove over everything else, but that might just be because I have smelled a lot of clove in my time because david smokes clove ciggerettes and such! I did use it on my neck when it was bothering me, but I can’t say that between it and the massage that it was the one that helped me out more than the massage if you know what I mean!

In all, I was very happy with this little set of oils and I look forward to being able to use them for a while to come. I have to say I thought some of the names/descriptions were a little odd and until I smelled of the particular scents i was like “um not gonna like this one” but I was wrong! I found a way to enjoy each and everyone of them..which is funny because I am picky picky picky with scents!
